Adi I did some back reading and apparently the debate wasn’t quite resolved. But I’m curious…how is it that you’re against gay marriage but you don’t have anything against gay people or homosexuality itself for that matter? Gay okay? Gay marriage not?

So, the question is now different from gay marriage, so I won’t ignore this.

So, you’re asking, how can you be [OK with something in general]
but
[against a specific aspect] of it.

I’m ok with Islam in general. I’m against the extremist interpretation of jihad.
Muslim, OK. Jihadi terrorist, NOT OK.

What anime/manga do you watch/read?

Naruto, Bleach, Reborn, HSD Kenichi, Beelzebub, Fairy Tail, Kurogane (KEZAWA Haruto), Air Gear… probably some others, but they probably don’t update often, so they don’t pop-up in my memory much

I am amused at the responses/questions people ask you with. How do you keep your composure in answering them?

Experience.
I’ve received many questions/messages that were much more offensive. However, I realized that if I became angry, then I was doing exactly what they wanted.
I chose be the better person by not giving in to that anger.

Adi, im gay. what if i get married, will you come to my wedding?

I don’t even know who you are. Lacking that crucial piece of information, then obviously I cannot answer.

However, for the sake of discussion, let us operate under the premises that
1) that you are someone I consider a dear friend
2) that same-sex marriage has been legalized
and
3) I am invited to said dear friend’s wedding

So, assuming that same-sex marriage does push through, then I will go, and give you my heartfelt best wishes.

However, as I have said before, do not expect me to help you get same-sex marriage legalized.

Further questions along this line of thought will be ignored

I’ve had friends, intelligent people all of them, tell me that they believe my stand on this is the wrong one. I still consider them friends, and respect them all the more for being able to tell me to my face.
